Reasons to be HappyThis morning I came across an amazing resource at The Pursuit of Happiness.  The website offers a wealth of information from the history and the science of happiness to teachings and classes to improve your own happiness today.

I was looking for a quick blog post about habits of happy people. Instead I found the 7 Habits of Happy People. Some of it is a long read, not exactly the quick list I was looking for – but certainly more informative and eye opening than I imagined. I’ve included a few snippets here, but visit the full article for so much more.

Positive Psychology and the Science of Happiness

We need to consult one of our greatest gurus, the scientific method. Recently we have seen a dramatic upsurge in scientific studies on Positive Psychology and the science of happiness or to put it simply, discovering what makes happy people happy. Fortunately, many of these studies point to specific ways of thinking and acting that can strongly impact our sense of well-being and happiness. The resulting discoveries are enriching the practices of counseling, clinical psychology, psychiatry and life coaching. In these pages, we review the most scientific studies and translate the results into non-technical English.
