Laura Benedict from Augusta, Maine has taken corporate giving to new levels. The Red Barn has been a family restaurant serving fried seafood and chicken in central Maine since 1977. After working in the business for many years, Laura bought it from her brother in 1988.
Although the food hasn’t changed over the years, the mission has. According to a sign outside her restaurant, Laura has inspired the community to raise over $2 million. The Red Barn has raised money for a number of causes including local veterans and elderly, local schools, local and many more.
