Woman Hopes to Feed 30,000 Meals by Her 30th Birthday
Lauren Puryear, an extreme couponer shares her story of how she took her passion for saving money with coupon to feed the homeless in her community.
“I was inspired by my grandmother. She raised us to always believe that it’s important to give back to our community. I don’t think people understand the amount of resources it takes to feed large quantities of people. I learned how to coupon. It kind of became an obsession. I’ve always had a passion to help other people. Once I saw how much I was able to save, I just put the two together and try to make a difference in the world. Humans should never have to suffer. Now that I’ve learned how to coupon, it’s really an easy way to end hunger. I have fed 10,000 meals. I hope to feed 30,000 by my thirtieth birthday. It’s our human duty to have some type of love for other people.“
